Patient Safety: Clinical Pearls the Veterinary Care Team Can Implement When Outsourcing Prescriptions

Pharmacists can be valuable resources when it comes to positively impacting veterinary patient care. For example, when communicating a prescription for chronic, preventive, and/or compounded medications to a pharmacy for fulfillment, there are some patient safety practices that can support the safe and accurate filling of the prescriptions. This webinar will highlight practices that can enhance the veterinarian–client relationship and support collaborative practice relationships with pharmacists who provide pharmacist care to veterinary patients. Veterinary pharmacist Elaine Blythe will share insights into how pharmacists process pet prescriptions so that practitioners can use this knowledge when communicating a therapeutic treatment plan to clients.
