Conservative Management of Canine Cruciate Injuries
About This Course
Cruciate issues are a common presenting complaint in companion canines. Although the gold standard for management is surgical intervention, some clients may favor more conservative, less invasive, alternative management approaches. This presentation will describe the conservative management plan a primary care veterinarian can follow in conjunction with their local rehabilitation veterinarian. Dr. Lisa Mason will provide a detailed description of the pathology of cruciate injury and will review conservative management options, including orthotics, regenerative medicine, rehabilitation techniques, and long-term multimodal joint health management, with a brief mention of surgical interventions.
