Stifle radiography is a useful procedure for determining pathology of musculoskeletal lesions in both juvenile and adult dogs. Pathology associated with the stifle can be divided into developmental (eg, osteochondritis dissecans) or acquired and aggressive (eg, neoplasia, osteomyelitis) or nonaggressive (eg, trauma, degenerative joint disease). An anatomic, location-based approach can help guide differential diagnoses.
